Triple-glazed light, drawn straight through.
Lumina took its name from the brief's first line: 'a house that uses daylight as its principal material.' The result is a refined assembly of triple-glazed curtain walls, white plastered concrete, and a fine-grain aluminium louvre system that handles the Dubai summer without ever showing itself as 'shading.' The basement is the project's most unusual move — a wellness floor with its own sunken courtyard, open to the sky above, so the morning swim happens nine metres below ground level in full daylight. A double-height private office connects the basement back to ground.
